PLAYERLYNC FOR WINDOWS

As of March 2023, we no longer actively support using the PlayerLync application on Microsoft Windows devices. While the application may continue to work for a period of time, customer support and active development of PlayerLync for Windows is no longer supported.

NOTES:

  1. Microsoft Windows will operate on thousands of different devices with varying capabilities. Some low-cost Windows devices may not offer an optimal experience with PlayerLync.
  2. Microsoft  controls the OS updates to maintain the best experience for the hardware. PlayerLync was tested and optimized for the most current OS at the time of this article (Windows 11).
  3. This only applies to the end-user PlayerLync application. PlayerLync server software still runs and is supported on Microsoft Windows Servers.

DEVICE SUPPORT

PlayerLync previously supported 64-bit versions of Windows tablets and laptops

OPERATING SYSTEM SUPPORT

PlayerLync previously supported Microsoft Windows 10/11 for 64-bit devices ONLY

DEVICE SPECIFICATIONS

Processor: PlayerLync benefits from a higher-than-average clock speed, especially for video-heavy applications.
PlayerLync recommends a processor speed not less than 1.8GHz.

Cores: Dual-core processors may not have optimal performance unless processor speed is higher than average.
PlayerLync recommends at least a quad-core CPU.

Memory: Most devices come in a variety of memory options.
PlayerLync recommends 4.0GB of RAM at a minimum.

Storage: We support external storage BUT performance is dependent on the SD Card. Be sure to check your device specifications for what it supports.
PlayerLync recommends at least 200/mb write speeds for external storage cards.

MANUFACTURERS

PlayerLync no longer tests with Microsoft Windows. There are many manufacturers of Windows capable devices. Should you choose to deploy on Windows without PlayerLync support, note that the device will need to run Windows 10 or 11 before PlayerLync can be installed.
