Auto Device Creation (ADC)
AUTOMATIC DEVICE CREATION (ADC)
ADC affords the ability for your organization to automate the device addition and registration process. With typical device addition/registration you would create a deviceID or Serial Number for each device. Once you launch the app on a device, you are prompted for that ID before you can continue to login and use the application. With ADC, your device is automatically added and registered with your PlayerLync Devices table as soon as the app is launched. Auto Device Creation will generate a random device record in PlayerLync that is prefixed with "dir-" (ex: dir-5eb3203448160) and will be located in the organization hierarchy at the organization of the member who initially logged in. This speeds up the process for device creation and registration if you have a lot of devices to load into the system.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Auto Device Creation is available for your organization once PlayerLync Support has enabled this on your account. There are a few pieces of information required in order to use ADC...
-
Company Name - This will be provided by PlayerLync and is specific to your organization
-
Member - This is the login you use for the PlayerLync platform
- Password - This is the password you use for the PlayerLync platform
USING ADC
Once the app has been installed and ADC has been enabled by PlayerLync Support, you will only need to launch the app and fill in the above information. Once that is complete you can login and begin using the application. You will not be prompted for a deviceID or Serial Number as the ADC has automatically added and registered the device at that point.
Note - You can use ADC in conjunction with Automatic Device Registration (ADR) if you plan to roll out your devices with an MDM.
