Capabilities Benefits
Bandwidth Throttling
PlayerLync provides administrators with tools to control the amount of network bandwidth that can be consumed for content synchronization. When large files need to transit limited or sensitive networks, controls can be applied both from the device side, as well as through server-side controls including session limits. More granular controls can be configured for customers with extremely complex corporate networks.
Video Compression
PlayerLync's video compression technology reduces video files to a fraction of their former file size with minimal loss of playback quality. Compression settings can be configured based on device and network need, but all settings produce high quality retention with maximal file size reduction.
Blackout Windows
For environments in which networks must be preserved during specific periods (such as busy periods or peak hours), blackout windows enable administrators to specify certain times during which content will not be synchronized with devices, protecting sensitive networks from any risk of overload. Administrative override controls are available with permission.
Network Preferences for Video
Protect sensitive or burdened networks from service interruption during busy hours. Includes controls to ensure large file types are not synchronized to devices over cellular networks, protecting high-cost cellular data plans.
